United States: Approximately 170,000 bottles of Martinelli’s apple juice need to be recalled because potential mold toxin contamination exists according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). 

The results of routine tests established elevated Patulin levels in Martinelli’s Apple Juice glass bottles from a December 2023 production run but only affecting bottles that come in four-packs each containing ten ounces per bottle according to the NBC News-obtained statement. 

Affected Bottles: What to Look For 

The recall applies to 7,234 juice case packs containing twenty-four bottles of juice. All affected bottles have a December 5, 2026 “best by” date.  

The juice bottles carry UPC number 0 41244 04102 2 along with their barcode below. 

Company Statement and Safety Assurance 

The voluntary recall was announced on March 18 by Watsonville, California-based S. Martinelli & Co.  The business stated: “We hold ourselves to the highest standards of excellence, and the health and safety of our customers remains our greatest priority.” 

The company has confirmed that no individuals have become ill due to this issue. 

Product Distributed Across 28 States 

Many states were affected by the recalled apple juice distribution because it reached a total of 28 states.  

According to Martinelli, the company assisted stores in hosting the affected product to eliminate remaining bottles from shelves
